I am an artist based in the beautiful yet wild North of Scotland, where I live with my husband and our young son.  I take my inspiration from my local scenery, places I have visited and people I meet to create oil paintings of landscapes, seascapes, portraits and still life as well as the occasional abstract.  I prefer the vibrancy of painting outdoors (or en plein air, if you prefer) whenever possible but enjoy balancing this with the calmer process of creating work in my studio.

My passion for art started at a very early age where my creativity knew no bounds - literally - I wasn’t bound to paper and liked to draw on walls, tables and such!  I loved art classes at school and started oil painting during my final years at secondary school.  My love of art was consigned to a hobby throughout my years of university and, latterly, working as a lawyer.  However, following the birth of our son I find that art is a great way to relax in the evenings or when I have a couple of hours of free time. This has meant that my passion for oil painting has been reignited and I intend to continue to find time to express my creative side whilst raising our son.  Although largely self-taught as an artist, I relish interacting with other artists and have attended workshops with leading international artists over the last few years.

I have created this website to share my work, in a hope that the happy energy I feel when painting is displayed in my art and reflected in the eyes of those who see my paintings.
